I've seen the jokes in this special countless times on Youtube over the years. My favorite being the bit about Kevin Hart cussing out his teacher. As this special went on, I realized this was the special of his that I watched the most of. Growing up, Kevin Hart's stand up material got played a lot in my household. More in my fathers house than my mothers, but his stuff always got played. I'd say that Kevin Hart is in my top 10 when it comes to stand-up comedians. Though I'd say this special got somewhat dull towards the last thirty minutes. I mean I really enjoyed the entire special, but the last thirty minutes wasn't really my favorite. Honestly…
Seems that everywhere you look these days....there is Mr. Kevin Hart. He's been in a new movie about every other month for the last year.....and I keep seeing his stand up comedy shows and movies as well. So I figured it was time to check out some of his stand up. Turns out much of the material in this show has been on heavy rotation on the Comedy radio network for the last 4 years. I would guess that I had heard about a third of the show before actually watching this on DVD.

So even though I had heard many of the jokes before I enjoyed watching him perform. This one runs a little over an hour.....it was filmed…

Seriously Funny isn't necessarily seriously funny, but it has its moments. Somehow, a bit about people falling down was the massive highlight of the special, with the skewer on Shaq while Lebron stood up to applaud in tears. I feel like this may be a critique I'll end up giving in every one of Hart's specials due to his style, but there are moments that are rather thin and out of touch. Though it's a clear enough upgrade to I'm a Grown Little Man with faster storytelling and Hart attempting to never lose momentum.

This guy is seriously funny!
Simply one of those comedians I don't find humorous at all. His jokes are misogynistic, racist and homophobic, but not in the good way, if you know what I mean. Comedians like Louis CK or Bill Burr seem to have purpose behind there vulgarity, Kevin Hart's jokes are simply thin and inconsequential.

His rise to fame is inexplicable.

Seriously UNfunny I really don't see why some people think he's funny ? With a run time of 67 minutes I laughed one time.

For some reason, I expected my first dose of Hart's comedy not to be a particularly enjoyable experience but this was a lot funnier than I expected it to be.

I have no idea why I didn't expect to like it as I knew nothing about the guy beforehand - I'm just used to seeing so much shitty stand-up comedy these days that it's probably just a natural state of mind to be in. This was pretty good, however. Nothing as politically challenging as you might find from Chris Rock or, to a lesser extent, Dave Chappelle, but nice and gentle fare that focuses mostly on his family.

He overdoes the impressions of people screaming but there were some very funny routines here and even the impression of Shaquille O'Neal falling over made me laugh - even though I hate basketball and have no idea how Shaq falls over.
